Terms and Conditions
Written in plain English, because Morty is built around the person going through the transaction.
About these terms
These terms apply when your firm signs up to use Morty and when your clients use the Morty portal their firm invites them to.
Where your firm's professional obligations require something more, we agree that with you in writing before your firm goes live with Morty.
What Morty provides
Morty is a client journey platform for solicitors. It gives a firm's clients one place to follow a property transaction, see what happens next, complete tasks, upload documents and exchange messages with the firm.
Morty is software. It does not give legal advice, act for anyone in a transaction, or replace the firm's own responsibility to its clients.
Who can use it
A firm's team members use Morty under accounts the firm controls. Clients use Morty under accounts their firm creates or invites them to.
Each account is for one person only. Anyone with access to an account is responsible for what happens under it, so keep your sign-in details to yourself.
Your responsibilities
The firm decides what it publishes to Morty, keeps its own records of the transaction, and remains responsible for the service it gives its clients.
Clients should use Morty for the transaction their firm has opened for them, keep their uploads accurate, and tell their firm if anything looks wrong.
Your data
Documents, messages and transaction details a firm or its clients put into Morty belong to them. We use them only to run the service and to keep it working and secure.
We store data with access controls, protect it in transit and at rest, and do not sell it. When a firm ends its subscription, we agree a return and deletion window with them.
Availability and support
We aim to keep Morty available around the clock and tell firms about planned work in advance where we can. Morty is provided as-is, and we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
If something is not working, the firm tells us and we investigate. For anything time-critical in a live transaction, the firm also uses its own usual channels.
Fees
Prices are shown on the pricing section of this site in euro and exclude VAT unless stated otherwise. A subscription runs until it is cancelled and renews for the period shown unless we are told otherwise.
Where a plan is described by number of active transactions, an active transaction is one open in Morty at the start of a billing period.
Liability
Neither we nor the firm is responsible for losses that neither party could reasonably have foreseen. Our responsibility for anything that goes wrong is limited to the fees paid for the affected period, except where the law says a limit does not apply.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters to a firm, we tell them before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Morty after that means the new terms apply.
